OK. Seriously, guys, TGIFS (Thank God it’s Fig Season). These little fruits are like nature’s gems. Soft, chewy, seedy, sweet, decadent, melt in your mouth goodness. I live for fig season, and cherish it as most I can before it’s over. Pair them with almond butter in oatmeal, with granola and yogurt or in a smoothie. Add some goat cheese with honey, nuts, and prosciutto, heck...you can even make homemade fig bars! Or do what I did and dip them in decadent dark chocolate, add some pistachio nuts for a healthy crunch and sea salt for extra minerals and savory kick.

I N G R E D I E N T S :

Basket of figs

1 bag dark chocolate chips

½ cup crushed pistachio nuts

Himalayan Sea Salt for sprinkling

P R E P A R A T I O N :

  1. Cut figs in half and lay on parchment paper

  2. Melt chocolate chips over a double boiler. Stir chocolate until well melted. Keep chocolate in pan over double boil so it stays warm and melted for dipping

  3. Dip each fig half way into chocolate and swirl then place onto parchment paper. Immediately sprinkle dipped fig with the crushed nuts and a pinch of sea salt.

    1. I think it’s best to do each fig individually so the chocolate doesn’t cool before adding the toppings!

  4. Place figs in the refrigerator to cool 30 minutes before enjoying!
