The recent emergence of long haul COVID has left many people wondering what this means for their health. Long haul COVID is a term used to describe people who have experienced lingering symptoms from a prior COVID-19 infection for weeks or months. It is not yet known why some people experience long haul COVID, but it appears to be more prevalent among those who were hospitalized with severe cases of the disease.

Common symptoms of long haul COVID include fatigue, shortness of breath, chest pain, difficulty concentrating, and headaches. Many people also report lingering respiratory issues such as coughing and wheezing. Some may experience heart palpitations, muscle and joint pain, and digestive disturbances such as nausea and diarrhea. Mental health issues such as anxiety and depression can also be present in long haul COVID cases.

It is not yet known how long the symptoms of long haul COVID will last, as this is an emerging phenomenon. It is important to consult with your primary care provider if you are experiencing any of the aforementioned symptoms. It is also important to note that many of the symptoms of long haul COVID can be similar to other conditions, so it is advisable to get a thorough medical evaluation to rule out other possible causes.

At this time, there is no specific treatment for long haul COVID. However, Chinese medicine and lifestyle modifications can be helpful in managing symptoms. Getting adequate rest, eating a healthy diet, and exercising regularly can help to reduce fatigue and improve overall well being. Additionally, immunity treatments such as acupuncture, fire cupping, and lymphatic massage can help the body fight off any lingering infection. Breathwork can also be helpful in assisting lung health and recovery. It is important to provide extra love and care to your body post COVID to get back to your optimal health and avoid excess long haul COVID symptoms.
